ABOUT ME
Hello, I’m Sara, a nostalgic soul—likely the reason I became a photographer. Photography is my way of proving to myself that a special moment existed, capturing it to remember forever. After all, isn’t photographing someone a way of keeping them with us in that particular moment? I believe memories shape our lives, defining who we are. In a sense, we are our memories.
I have the privilege of a very special job: capturing your memories on one of the most important days of your life or on an occasion you want to hold close. Using thoughtful light and composition, I aim for a beautiful aesthetic in every photo, but you will always be the main characters of the story.
education
Through self-study, workshops in Italy and abroad with top photographers worldwide, and studies in reportage and film photography at Scuola Romana di Fotografia, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering my craft. I believe there is always room to grow, and I use quieter seasons to continue learning and experimenting with new techniques.
PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS
I’ve mentored other photographers, authored two books for Nikon titled Master of Photography, have an approved portfolio on PhotoVogue, and won awards in family photography contests. I’ve also judged a family photography contest, and my work has been displayed at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts in the “Picture (Im)perfect” exhibit, which documented real family life. In 2025 one of my wedding photos has been selected and displayed in Arles - one of the most important photography festivals worldwide - for the ‘Faces’ exhibit. Yet, I feel that my greatest achievement and what brings me joy the most is making my clients happy.
INSPIRATIONS
In no particular order: the sea, my family (including my cat), comics and illustrated books (there’s so much to learn from them!), good movies and going to the cinema, experimenting with new vegan recipes, old photos of unknown people (imagining their lives), cats, traveling (and coming home), and observing the world through frames, like cityscapes through my apartment windows or landscapes from a train.
WHY HIRE ME
My career began as a documentary family photographer, capturing my own family and others for about 10 years. This was some of the best training I could have, photographing children in challenging light and with no opportunity for posing. Moving into event photography felt natural; I was prepared to capture fleeting moments quickly. I’ve combined this documentary style with editorial-style portraits, inspired by great fashion photographers, to offer my clients a complete experience.
Authored Works for Nikon:
“We knew Sara was the one the moment we stumbled upon her work (even with an already booked photographer), and changing our course was the BEST decision we made!
With a late October wedding, we expected unpredictable weather. The day brought both rain and sunshine — and we’re so glad it did. Sara embraced every shift, and the results speak for themselves.
I was also very nervous because my hair and makeup turned out much differently than I’d hoped, and I worried I wouldn’t even recognize myself in the photos. But she made me feel comfortable and seen — and captured me in a way that helped me feel like myself.
As we moved through the day, she brought us to corners of Rome we never would have discovered on our own, and those moments became some of our favorite memories.
We feel incredibly lucky to have shared our day with her, and we’ll treasure the photos — and the memories behind them — forever.
Thank you, Sara!!!”
